Chief Lorraine Crane

Chief Lorraine Crane has been the leader of our community for the past 14 years.  Throughout her tenure, she has made significant achievements in all departments, including advocating for the Nation to be recognized as a First Nation and receiving its First Nation status with Indigenous Services Canada, securing the funding and building of the Water treatment Plan after years of the community being on a boil water advisory.  She also fought diligently for the Lake St. Joe Settlement and the Hydro One Settlement.  She participated and completed the hydro easement agreement that goes through the Nations traditional lands.

Her passion is promoting our language and traditional values in the community as well as, ensuring the safety of our Child and Family Services department.

Chief Lorraine Crane has participated on various communities outside of the community including, Tikinaagan Child and Family Services Board, Oshkibimajiwiin Social Services Board, and previously the NANs Women's Council.

Her vision remains her continued devotion to ensuring the safety and well-being of our Elders and our families in the community.  Chief Lorraine Crane is dedicated to continuing the visions of past leaders of Slate Falls Nation.
